How to change to AGP4x ?

After many fruitless hours of trying to get my Radeon 9800 pro to work
properly I have discovered that my Asus motherboard cant run it at 8x AGP
and I need to turn off fast write.

My question is how do I do this ? I cannot see this option anywhere either
in my BIOS or the ati panel. Help appreciated, my mobo is Asus P4S800.

Sounds kinda stupid but did you make sure you installed your mobo
drivers..... specifically your agp port driver? I dont know why you wouldn't
be able to run your card @ 8x..... it should work just fine, although it is
true that alot of the time you do have to turn off fast write. But, that's
an omega driver thing too alot.

Yeah I have flashed the BIOS, installed very lastest MoBo drivers etc etc,
it would appear it is a MoBo issue.

So how do you turn AGP down to 4x ? Anyone know ?

The manual should tell you, but there are some BIOS menu's that you
have to scroll down to see all the options, the one you want will be
in there somewhere.

You could always download rivatuner software and force the 9800 pro to AGP
4x via rivatuner, then use CPUZ to check if it is running agp 4x.

Thanks to all that replied, I have found it now, it was in a sub menu.
Things running much better now, still get a zero display error when I try to
install drivers but it is showing that they are installed so I suppose this
is as good as Im going to get it. Had the card nearly 12 months, so nice to
see it working at least in some way.
