How to change the format in "all" WordPads?

U

URBAN

I have a Windows xp Media center SP. I use WorkPads to type. When I
open a WordPad its format is Arial-size10-not bold.Obviously I can go
to Format and change that particular WordPad to Comic Sans MS-size18-
Bold. Question:- Is there a way of altering the format (to e.g. "Comic
Sans MS-size18-Bold") of ALL WordPads for all times, rather than
altering the format each time? I shall be obliged if someone
knowledgeable knows the answer and would let me know.
Regards and thank you,
Urban

I dont think there is a setting/parameter for font/etc. But you can create
an empty document* > Set font/etc. > Use that document to launch wordpad.

For Example,
1) Create a new text file (not rtf file).
2) Open in notepad and enter the following(this is one line) :
{\rtf1{\fonttbl{\f0\fscript\fprq2\fcharset0 Comic Sans
MS;}}\viewkind4\uc1\pard\b\f0\fs36\par
3) Save > Rename the file to RTF.

If you want, you can set this default for [New>Rich Text Document] :
1) Start - Run - regedit.exe
2) HKCR\.rtf\ShellNew
3) Right side, double click Data and set it to:
{\rtf1{\fonttbl{\f0\fscript\fprq2\fcharset0 Comic Sans
MS;}}\viewkind4\uc1\pard\b\f0\fs36\par

*if you use an empty document then wordpad will not save the font settings.
The workaround is insert a space then select the space > set font etc. >
Save the document. The you can open the file in notepad and remove the
space (if you want)..

Good Luck, Ayush.

Dear Ayush, I am sorry, I must be thick, but I do not understand your
solution. I am not a professional and your "1.Create a new text file
(not rtf file)"," 2.Open in notepad" are just double Dutch to me.What
do "text file"," rtf " and "Open in notepad" mean? I wished you were
more explicit. Otherwise you waste your time. Thanks and regards,Urban

Here are some simple steps-

1) Open Wordpad
2) Type a space in the window or document.
3) Click on Edit and select "Select All.." (or press Ctrl+A)
4) Change the Font Size, Font Name and Bold/Italic etc.
5) Click on File > Save
6) In the name box, copy/paste following-
"C:\RtfTemplate.rtf"
7) Open your C:\ drive
8) Right click on RtfTemplate.rtf and choose "Send to" then "Desktop"
9) Now, to launch Wordpad, use the new desktop shortcut to file,
