I have a windows 2000 Pro pc and i created a dialup connection so i can
connect to my remote office. I select the option under Make New Connection
Dial-up to privat network. When i finish i go to the properties and see that
its using a modem connected to COM1. I need the connection to use the second
modem on COM2 cause the first modem is a weird modem that windows wont
reconize but the modem only work with the software that came with it.

thanks

Change the modem in the Networking and Dial-Up Connections to use the second
modem.

I wish it was that easy. I dont have that option. Is there anything else?
Where you would normally select your modem its grayed out.

That would imply the modems are not installed correctly, do they show up in
the modems applet in control panel and/or do they appear in device manager?

As Steve said, the choice should be there if both modems are properly
installed.

Yes they both show up under the Modems. Com1 says Standard Modem and Com2
says Hayes 2400.
