Under "My Computer", I have several drives and two document files. There is
no "change file name" in the left hand menu, so how do I change the document
file name? LAM

Right click the file, choose rename, or click twice on the file name with a
delay between the two clicks, and edit the file name directly.

Select the file and pressing F2 works too. ;)

"Rename" is what you are looking for.

Don't forget the original method - highlight the file, click file, rename
:-)

There are at a minimum two folders displayed when you open My
Computer. One is named Shared Documents. If you want to change
the name displayed for this folder, go to it's location on your
hard drive, normally C:\Documents and Settings\All Users, and
rename the Shared Documents folder.

You'll also see the My Documents folder associated with your
user account. I know of no way to rename this folder other than
changing the name of the user account. Do yourself a favor and
learn to live with the name of this folder.

Good luck

So how do I change the name of the user account? I really cannot live with the current name of the folder. LAM
