How to block multiple Tracking Cookie popups in AVG

Hi,
Some webpages seem to have multiple cookies and AVG popups a dialog
("Ignore, Heal, Move to vault") for each and every one. This keeps
happening even if one moves the cookies to the vault, leaves the page
and returns to it. I also have AD-AWARE but this doesn't seem to block
them (unless AVG 'gets there' first, I guess!).

Is it possible to block these cookies just the once (similar to
setting a program's access status with a firewall) rather than keep on
manually blocking these cookies each time? It's driving me crazy!

It is with a modern browser.

With Firefox, for example, you set it to ask for all cookies, then (for
these ad cookies) click the dialog's Deny button with a check in the "Do
not ask me again" box.

Click the Allow button for cookies you need, such as your web mail, bank
sites, etc.

enough alone. For cookies I wanted I just accepted them using your
scheme. So I changed back to what I had before. But for some reason
GMail says I have cookies turned off in Firefox. I don't. I changed it

I would suggest you click the [ Exceptions ] button, click on the top of
the Status column (to sort by Allow/Block) and click the first Block,
hold down Shift key, scroll and click the last Block, and click the
Remove Site button at the bottom.

There is bound to be one gmail-related cookie URL in your blocked list.
Doing the above will remove all "Block" status, but this isn't a
problem; just block ad- and other unwanted cookies again later.

LOL....I forward all of my GMail to OE (horrors!!, but I have made it
quite safe) but from time to time I go into the GMail website and delete
the duplicates. I use GMail for genealogy lists that are spammer
delights, so the spam does build up in there. I do wish that Rootsweb
would smarten up and not make addresses available to the great
unwashed!!

Automatically? No, they get to be there when you either allow or deny
them. Status: "Allow/Block"

Hmm.....that looks quite different from the setup I used way back when I
configured OE to receive my GMail stuff.

The reason I have it go thru GMail is due to the amount of spam that
GMail grabs. Because I only use it for 3 or 4 things, I keep that spam
away from my main address. Does that make any sense?? (VBG)

Anyway, I will get the blocking on FF sorted out and answer when I have
done so. Busy day......so on and off here. Now into designing
jewellery, and that takes up a lot of thought. And fiddley messing
about with teeny bits and pieces. But damn, I am good......LOL!!

Using POP3 access only downloads what is in the Inbox, not the Spam box.
Are you implying you get a lot of spam in the Gmail Inbox? I never get
any there, whilst accumulating maybe 300 per month in the Spam box.

Because I only use it for 3 or 4 things, I keep that spam away from my
main address.

Yes, it does separate different email addresses and no, I do not want to
use a *modern email client*. I am quite happy with (and used to) OE.

Years ago, I made the mistake of trying out Free Agent.....hated it!! I
had thought about Thunderbird, but if OE ain't broke, etc. I have it
safe-hexed and have had no problems in what.....10 years??

OK.....reopened Firefox, checked Exceptions and every one of the bad ad
cookies I had checked off in SpywareBlaster are now in Firefox. Not a
bad little free proggie, eh? I had wondered how in heck they got there

Not like me. I do not go to Gmail and delete any copy. There isn't one.
If you POP it directly instead of forwarding it somewhere else, you
download it *off* the gmail server. No maintenance necessary.

I would get to keep you....hmmm. Not entirely sure that would be a good
thing......but OTOH.....if you have a good pension and all of your own
teeth, it is worth thinking about, lol.

As for #2, why on earth would you want to leave the Great White North
and go back to the US of A?? Up here we have free health insurance, TWO
old age pensions, a dollar that is damn near at par with yours, and and
a sensible gun law. (as in NO guns).
