how to backup an SSL Cert

I have a window 2k DC with a SSL cert and i need to rebuild this machine. DO
i need to backup the cert or can i reinstall it when i rebuild the server.
 
You can export the certificate and save it to a floppy disk for reimport
after the rebuild. I think (?) a system state backup also backs up the
certificate store.
