Hi, I am a relative AD newbie and am planning on putting a 2003 server onto
an existing 2000 domain. I would like to know how to back-up the schema for
the current domain. Any info much appreciated!

Antony,

Welcome to this NewsGroup. I might suggest that you
simply back up the "System State". This should pretty
much cover it. You can use the built in NTBackUp Utility
or use a third party application like Veritas.

Cary already gave you "the" answer: Backup System State

If you have more than one DC (in a Forest) you have a fault tolerant
Schema as all of them have a copy of it.

BUT, if you were to do something that replicated then you would have
that alteration on each DC as soon as they synchronized.

Backing up System State includes the "Active Directory" and one of the
AD partitions is the Schema.
