How to allocate new HDD on Win XP

I bought a new HDD Seagate(40GB)and then option Disk
management can saw disk but status shown "unallocate".For
my question How to allocate new HDD on Win XP. What the
option to select type of new drive (Primary,extend or
Logical).

To allocate space you have to partition the drive. If you right click
it will ask New Partition and if you select it a Partition Wizard appears.
Depending on what you want to do with the drive, install a second
operating system or use it just for file storage and how your first drive
is partitioned ( 1 or more ) you can
choose Primary, Extended or Logical Partitions. For info on Partitioning
