How to add memory to (system) Partition

I recently let someone to instauled Windows XP Pro. on my Laptop.But He did,nt Provide enaph memory to the Partition (sustem) That (I do,nt know why )he has done that,and as a resolt I get warnings (your system is running out of memory)and I can,t load eny more programs.
Is there a way to add memory to such a partition?

Partitions = drive space
Memory = RAM modules

If you don't have enough "drive space" in your system partition you can use
Partition Magic to shrink an adjourning partition and then expand the system
partition to utilize that freed up space.

Hi Richard and thanks for the responce,
It sounds easy.But how do I do all that?And what is partition magic?And My system wont let me expand a (Sustem Partition).
