In my OL address book I have 3 things listed.
1. Outlook Address Book
2. Contact List
3.Contacts

1 and 2 are empty and i would like to delete them. I would then like to
create a new secondary address book that will not be used as the default
book.

I've tried Tools>email accts>view/change existing address books but this is
not working.

The Outlook Address Book is a container that hold virtual address books
generated from your contact type folders (like Contacts).

You can't delete the Outlook Address Book service or you will not be ab;e to
access any of your contacts in the Address Book. The Address Book contains
no data itself. It is a view of those of your Contacts folders that you've
enabled as an address book. If you want to remove the second entry, in
Outlook, click Tools>E-mail Accounts>View or change existing directories or
address books>Next. Select Outlook Address Book, click Change, and remove
the bogus Contacts fodler there.

You can make as many Contacts folders as you like and enable them all to be
address books. You can control the order in which they're search by
starting the Address Book interface abd clicking Tools>Options

You don't say what you're doing once you get there so there's no way to tell
you why what you're trying isn't working.

Hi,
Thank you for your help. When i followed your directions i discovered that i
had in fact successfully deleted the extra address book. I may not have
exited OL fully and re-opened it. When I did file>exit, it worked.

Thanks again!!!
