I am in Word 2003 and unable to figure out how to over score a line above a
texted name for signature purposes. Does anyone know how to do this?

The easiest way is to use the drawing tools to draw the desired line
(right-click any toolbar and choose Drawing to display the drawing tools).

See http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/Overbar.htm for one way, but
honestly, I just type a line of underline characters (or use an underlined
tab) and then type the name on the next line, below it.

In order to give that appearance of the texted name being right under the
line (and not just typed underneath it) I believe you could select the texted
name, right-click, then select "Font". Then place a check mark in the
"superscript" box and that should give you that pro-look I think you are
referring to.
