How to acess my userid

[HELP]

Hi,
Serious problems. Unable to log on to Windows XP Home due
to a corrupt system file. Got the advice to install a
second copy of XP...it's done and I can burn all files
that we have together on the PC. But those file we only
could reach when we were logged in on our password
protected USER-IDs I can't access...WHAT TO DO???

Take Ownership, #8 on this link:

Try to right click these files and select "Take ownership"

Take Ownership is not available from the context menu. The user needs to select Sharing and Security, then go to the Security tab and click Advanced.
