How to access internet via VPN

One w2k Advanced server, connect to the server with a modem(only can get one ip address),will be update to ADSL
connect to the intranet via a NIC(privaite ip 172.16.x.x)

intranet address:
16 C class internet address(for security and accouting reason, can not connect to internet directly),
172.16.0.0/255.255.0.0
172.18.0.0/255.255.0.0

Now, I want access the internet and intranet using the client with intranet address (especially for the notebook, it will change the intranet address usually),

so, how to set up the VPN server, and routing function for the win2k advanced server? and also the routing table?
and how to setup up the default gatway of client, and also the routing table of client computer?

Have you looked at the option of using NAT. I think NAT fits into your
scenario more then a VPN. NAT info can be found at

Info about configuring a NAT can be found at
