Peter Hon

Dear all,
I have a file infected with Nesky worm, which is in the /Sytem
volume informaiton/...../*.pif. But the Antivirus software cannot find
the files
under this Directory. Would you mind to tell me how to access the file
under
/System Volume information/ and how to remove the virus in that.

Thanks.

Turn off System Restore ---
Right click on My Computer, Properties, System Restore tab, select 'Turn off
system restore...'
Then run your virus scanner and turn System Restore back on.

Greetings --

The System Volume Information is the folder in which WinXP's
System Restore feature stores information used to recover from errors.

To clear viruses from the "System Volume Information," simply turn
off the System Restore feature (Start > All Programs > Accessories >
System Tools > System Restore, System Restore Settings), reboot, then
re-enable System Restore, and reboot one last time. This will delete
all of your Restore Points, including the corrupted one(s), and allow
you start with a clean slate.
