how so i delete/uninstall aol from my computer, please

hello, is there any way that i can uninstall or delete aol from my
computer?
the previous owner used aol and just transferred their account to their
new computer.
when i try to connect to yahoo directly aol trys to connect.
i don't use aol and have never had an account with them, i am using my
local isp and would like to get aol off the computer if possible. if it
can be deleted could someone please give me step by step directions as
how to do it. i am a newbie and still need to learn a lot.

1. Have you tried to uninstall it from the Control Panel, "Add or Remove
Programs"?
2. Does it show up as a connection under Control Panel, "internet Options",
"Connections"? If so, have you tried to remove that connection?
