How NOT to beep during volume adjustment?

just plain rob

I would like to adjust the speaker volume and not have XP beep as it
feeds that sound during my live recordings. I cannot find this adjustment
anywhere...

Change the "Default Beep" event to "None". That's done in Control
Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices, Sounds tab.
