Hi,

As some of you may already know that I'm looking at up-grading to an I7 rig and I am looking at selling the pc in my sig. Any ideas as to how much I would get for it on Ebay? Is it best to sell it as a complete base unit or sell the parts individually?

Cheers,

Wiz

Cos I am feeling luvverly today I have done a few figures for you.

This is very much my idea of what it would be worth and what I'd be prepared to pay, feel free to disagree.

Where goods are no longer available I've done my best to estimate price.

You're going to have a hard job selling it as a complete system without a case.

You'll probably get more for the parts selling them seperately.

I'm assuming the 400Gb drive is a SATA I drive.

The USB card value is negligible.

Hi Flops,

Thanks for your reply.

Thanks for the figures they are very helpful. :thumb:

It is suprising how things go down so much in a few years, although its still a good price for the system.

Would you say it is better to sell the base unit or the parts individually? The Samsung HDD is SATA 11.

This is the case that I am using at the moment.

Well that increased the value of the tower unit by precisely zero :D

;)

I've got one of those cases living in a wardrobe atm, used to belong to a mate of mine. It just needs a socket A CPU and it may very well breathe again.

Ok, seriously, if selling as a complete unit, offer it for £450.00, hope for £400.00 and accept £350.00 as rock bottom.

If selling parts seperately remember to mark them up a little to allow for haggling and realise you may not sell all the parts, especially the USB card; DVDRW and case.

Looking at that spec I would say a decent price on the bay would be between £325 to £425

Yes the price of pc components drop like a stone once the next big thing hits the streets, namely i7

Good luck and let us know how you got on..

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your replies.

I will stick this on Ebay in the next few months or so and then let you know how I got on with the sale and what it sold for.

Thanks,

Wiz
