How much page file is too much/overkill, need advise please

I have 3.2 gig laptp with 1.5 gigs or ram. Windows set it up at 2046
minimum and 4096c maximum. Does thiseem over kill or should i just let
window manage it without hurting performance. Could letting windows manage
it would help me more than hurt me. lease advise as I want what will do my
system the best, thank you.

with that much ram you won't need much page file!
i have 1 gb of ram and my page file usage is never more
then 50mb.
you can just let windows manage it, it won't use more then
it needs.

Hi,

It's overkill unless you need full memory dumps for debugging, or you are
heavy into video editing. With that much ram I would set it for a startup of
100MB (no max, that's just asking for trouble) and set the recovery settings
for only a minidump.

Yes it is. Try Initial 100 (leave Max alone) and I doubt very much if
you will see it grow at all. Read up in my page
