Ex demo means ex display basicly.

ok i have been offered it for £350. To give you an idea, i bought the exact same pc NEW for £550 few months back so its a saving of £200 because its an ex demo.

He said it comes with the manufacturers warranty, is this possible with an ex demo model? How would i send it in for repair under warranty do i need proof i have a warranty?

you should be given all of the documents and CD's that are relevant to the computer when you buy it

Mucks is right, the motherboard is important, try and find out what it is.

Your invoice will act as the warranty, but it would be wise to request the warranty in writing.

Being ex-demo doesn't affect the warranty, that responsibility lies with the vendor and what they agree to.

Who are you buying it from?

Video card's not too clever, but other than that, looks like a good machine for the price, assuming everything works OK.

Everest quoted the motherboard as 'unknown' ... that’s a new one on me.

Look ... for £350, it aint bad ... it'll do. Plenty of people out there with Acer, some happy some not.

As for my comments on propriety manufactured components, let’s just say I'm an old sick in the mud fuddy duddy who is set in his ways. Dell is the only “propriety manufacturer” that will tell you what the MB is that I am aware of ... and even they are getting on my wrong side.

I know enough to know what I want and who is in my favourite list. Just trying to pass on some knowledge.
