If I activated my Vi$ta ultimate x32, could I activate the same product
key again when I switched over to x64?

Any limit on the number of activation on the *SAME* hardware?

You can activate as many times as you need. It just can only be installed on
one machine at a time. And when you switch to x64, that won't be a problem,
either. However, when you do reinstall, it will probably tell you that your
key is already in use and you will have to activate by phone.

This means I should hold my activation till I found all 64-bit drivers
for my hardware.... thanks. I will keep re-installing it every 30 days
then... :)

After 120 days, you have to re-run the command. You can do it up to 3 times.

Together with the three postponements made possible with slmgr -rearm and
the opening 30-day grace period, that would give users nearly a year (360
days) of activation-free use. A copy of Vista Home Basic bought March 14,
however, ignored the SkipRearm registry change.

"Microsoft has slipstreamed something into Home Basic and Home Premium,"
Livingston said. "But from my reading of the support documents, Microsoft
needs to keep this feature in its business editions, Vista Business,
Enterprise and Ultimate.
