How many names can you have in a distribution list?

How many names can you have in one distribution list? Is there a maximum
number?

Can you max them out? On occassion, I will have the entrie group that I am
not able to send . . . . it will sit in the outbox, not able to process the
e-mail that I am sending ......is that related to total number in the group
or some other function of the e-mail or one or more of the e-mail addresses
not matching the outlook contact information?

Any information would be much appreciated!
