How many ADDRESS books?

George

I wondered what's going on here with address books, and which is the "real"
address book that most people use.

Am using WinXP-pro and OutlookXP (aka Outlook2002). Noticed that there are
(at least) two address books: "Outlook Address Book" and just plain
"Address Book." I can get to plain Address Book on the Start menu
(Start>Search>Cmputers or People>) and key in a name. Somewhat handy,
except the address book is empty, so useless.

----How would I re-route it to Outlook Address Book versus what I assume is
the plain Address Book?

----On this PC, I have at least two address-book-looking files as follows.

a) one is under C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\wab.exe

b) Other is under C:\Documents and Settings\MyName\Application Data\Personal
Address Book.ADR

c) are there more?

Thanks,

George

Outlook uses the Contacts folder for it's addresses, with the Outlook
Address Book service making your Contacts folder appear as an address book.
The other address book (ending in .WAB) ia the Windows Address Book, used by
Outlook Express. Finally, the "Personal Address Book" is no longer used by
Outlook, but is there for compatibility with older versions of Outlook.
