How important is it to Import

I know I am supposed to "import" files into my Frontpage 2003 site. What
happens if I don't?

Specifically, I've set up an image work flow in my office where folks are
going to drop images directly into a folder within my site. I don't plan to
"import" them.

What specifically can happen since I'm not importing these images?

Would "recalculate hyperlinks" fix whatever problems might occur?

if you don't Import or Copy/Paste your image links may turn out incorrect,
like links to images in local folders.

In addition to Rob's comments, running Tools->Recalculate Hyperlinks
before using the image may help, provided no images are copied into the
site before (or during) the recalculate.

It would be better if your users placed the images in another folder
outside the website (or even in a subweb in the website), then you could
import the images from there.
