hi,
I have windows 2000 with sp4 on it our mail server that is
exchange 2003 is been installed. For some reason the a
user (e-mail address removed) is been deleted from active directory.
and then again with the same user (e-mail address removed) has been
created. But the problem is the mails still exist in
mailbox stores which the first user is not been deleted. I
want to get those mails back. Can any one help me with
detail procedure so that i can retreive my email and its
very important emails.
Thanks
John

There's probably an Exchange newsgroup for this post.

Anyway.. in E2K at least, you can go to the Mailbox Store,
right-click the mailbox, and "Reconnect.." to the new user account.
Then go to the users properties, and under "Exchange advanced",
select "mailbox rights".
Not sure I rember all settings exactly, but at least make sure the user
account has "Full mailbox access" to this mailbox. Or, set the user to be
"Asscociated external account", I think that should do the trick.

Hope I got this right ....
Cheers,
Anders :)

Hi John
If you want to get back all mail, try to create a user that is not
mailenabled, you do this in AD. Then open Exchange system
manager|Servers|Server|First storage group|Mailbox store|Mailboxes and
reconnect the mailbox to the account you just created. This should help.
