How can I enter newline in text in Excel cell with Enter-key only?
(i.e. not having to use Alt-Enter)

Got no solution by playing with
Tools > Options > Edit tab > Edit directly in cell
Tools > Options > Edit tab > Move selection after enter

flags or by Wrap option in Format > Cell > Alignment.

Not a good answer, but maybe you could use some unique character while you're
typing (like !).

Then when you're done, you could
edit|replace
what: !
with: (alt-0010) (hit an hold the alt and type 0010 from the numeric keypad)
replace all.

If you decide to use ~, ?, or * as your unique character, you'll have to use:
~~, ~?, ~* as the string to replace (those 3 characters are related to wildcards
in excel.)

But don't use ! if you have reference to other sheets or workbooks.
That would replace the ! in the links.

Good point! <vbg>

Maybe the backquote ` would be ok (to the left of 1/! on my USA keyboard)

And I think the keystroke I would use would be .... alt-enter.
