How does one upgrade the video in a notebook?

Most of the time, you can't. There were very few models that used a video
card that could be upgraded, but they didn't last long on the market.

Those notebooks that had upgradeable video cards more often than not
failed since the costs of the upgrades exceeded the value to the consumers.

One doesn't. Unless, as another responder pointed out, one buys a new
laptop.
