How Does One Delete Document "Meta Data"

I thought the issue of things like the "undelete buffer" being emptied on
closing a file had been addressed some time back. However, my faith in this
has been brought into question by an article on ZDNet
(http://zdnet.com.com/2100-1104_2-5320006.html) which implies such deletions
are not automatic. I tried a couple of queries in MS Word help on MSDN, but
did not come up with anything.

If someone knows of some good links which discuss the status of the undelete
buffer at various points of the applications operation and how to make sure
it is really deleted, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

Don

Users of Word 2002 and 2003 can use Microsoft's Remove Hidden Data utility
(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=144E54ED-D43E-42CA
-BC7B-5446D34E5360&displaylang=en One of the first things this tool does,
though, is accept all changes in the document. In most cases where users
claim to have found "hidden data" in documents they receive, the data is
just tracked changes that haven't been removed. This problem arises from
users' misunderstanding of the Track Changes feature: turning Track Changes
off is not the same as accepting the changes.

you might also want to open the Options dialog (from the Tools menu) and go
to the Security tab. In the Privacy Options section select Warn before
printing, saving, or sending a file that contains tracked changes or comments
