How does OL 03 or 07 compare to 02 for IMAP?

In my previous question to the list I was told that Outlook 2002 is a less
than ideal IMAP client because it tries to open a connection for each folder
(which explains the problems I'm having, see below). How does Outlook 2003
or 2007 compare to this? Does 03 or 07 also open a connection for every IMAP
sncy'd folder?

I want to use a client for Gmail with IMAP (I've always used & liked Outlook
2002 for my previous POP3 acct), but I have quite a few storage folders
(65+). I'm currently having trouble bcs there are too many open connections
(65+) with Outlook 2002.

Thanks,
