As the subject says, does anyone know how to ub install windows
messanger from WinXP?
There is no listing for it in Add/Remove programs and neither is there
anything in Windows Components to let me get rid of it.

The reason I want to do this is because on my cousins machine (WinXP) I
suspect that windows messanger is causing some problem with his dial up
connection. His username and telephone dial up number are being changed
after the correct ones are entered

Thanks

More like you have an installed dialer program on your computer - available
without your knowledge from many porn sites.

If you are lucky you "won't" be charged $29.95 per minute of connection
time, as an acquaintance of mine was. Imagine his shock when he got the
phone bill for over 10 thousand dollars for one months service. He didn't
notice that his computer was hanging up the modem and then redialing the
over sea number in Russia.

P/S The phone company would not let him off the hook. They said it was
happening too much lately and they would no longer absorb the charges. The
acquaintances son also could not sit comfortably for quite a long time!

Yes you could be right; but what happens is that after the *real*
username/password? and phone number have been entered, then he clicks on
'dial' the connection could not be made (Error 619). So we check/
investigate why, and lo and behold the details have been changed.
But yes, I did remove a lot of adware/spyware, and various other non
essential stuff, but it still happens, and I can't figure out why!

Thanks
