I have copied a picture from a web page. I cannot see it on my word document.
I have just purchased Microsoft Publisher for the excel capabilities.
My husband does analytical research. I use word a lot.

I can clip and cut the picture, paste it in. I only see an outline and no
picture.
I see a picture on the right side. Now, I can't get the screen up.

Talk about a learning curve. 1 day and still plucking.

It sounds like you have picture placeholders activated. Assumning Word
2003, go to Tools/Options [View] tab and see if under Show "picture
placeholders" is checked. This is useful for large documents where
loading hi-res pictures can make Word very slow. If so, clear the box
and now you shd see yr pasted pictures.
