HOW DO YOU TURN OFF MICROSOFT NARRATOR?

One day my computer started talking to me; not sure why or how, but I have
been unable to find out where and how to make it stop. It is extremely
annoying. Whenever I hit the 'enter' key it repeats whatever is in the cell
in question. I just found out about narrator and tried to shut it off but
was not successful. I have been trying on and off to get this fixed for over
a year. Any help would be most appreciated.

Try Tools>Options>General tab, uncheck Provide feedback with sound

Thanks, Mike, but I had played around with that before to no avail. And it
isn't just in Excel that it speaks; that's why I thought it might be
Narrator. I can shut off Narrator but as soon as I get out it turns itself
back on.

Thanks; I tried it but the 'provide feedback with sound' button was unchecked.
