how do you slow down the speed of paging when selecting text

When selecting text for a cut and paste, and the text exists over several
pages, the paging goes to quickly to stop where I want it to. How do I slow
down the paging?

When you cut are you trying to drag the selected text to paste, in another
area? It isn't necessary. Try to cut the chosen text, then scroll at
desired pace. Place the mouse where you want to paste, and then paste. It's
just a shot. : )

Instead of trying to select by dragging with the mouse, click at one end of
the desired selection, use the vertical scroll bar to bring the other end in
view, then Shift+click there.

Now you have two options. Hope it works out.

Instead of trying to select by dragging with the mouse, click at one end of
