How do you open or install and .msi file?

How do I open an msi file? I have been to several websites that say to run
it. I need it to in order to install Easy Media Creator 7.

It works just like an .exe -- just double click it to run.

I am not sure if you can "open" it to see the files contained but to run it
you can right click and select install.

It tells me to choose a program to run with it. I installed the registry
file that was on this thread.
