How do you "nudge" something in smaller parts than the defaults

I can't seem to find a setting to "adjust" the amount of nudging that happens
when I try to move an object. Left or right...it goes farther than I want it
to...and I just need to barely nudge it to get it centered.......seems it
should be simple...I feel..."duuuuuuhhhh"

Anyone know?

Thanks in advance.

How are you doing your nudging? Ctrl-Arrow, and Ctrl-Shift-Arrow move
by different numbers of pixels. Zoom way big, and the final result is
a smaller movement.

OTOH, if you're moving things to get them arranged with relation to
each other, select them both/all and choose Align from the drop-down
among the Drawing commands.

Also be aware that pressing Alt overrides the grid or any other "snap to"
settings.

Thank you maam :-) It woiked. ;-) It is greatly appreciated. Pressing
"control" was the answer. Like I said....I knew it was likely a
"duuuuhhhhhhh". :-)
