How do you know if usb is 2.0 or 1.0

In Device Manager, if it's USB 2.0 you should see the word "Enhanced" under
the USB Controllers.

Wow, Cari. That's news to me! Great idea.

Another way is to plug, say, a USB flash drive into one of the open ports.
If the flash drive is less than 2 years old and your USB ports are the older
1.1, there will be a window alert to the fact that faster data transfer can
be had quicker by upgrading the ports to 2.0
