How do you insert one PPT slide into an existing PPT slide

Just upgraded to Windows Office Professional 2003. With Power point 2000 I
could create one slide which consisted of several individual slides (by
sizing them to fit side by side). This is useful when plotting one PPT slide
(size 18" by 24") to display several different maps. To do this using PPT
2000 all I had to do was open the new version of an individual map, select
Slide Sorter View, click copy, go to my PPT slide consisting of multiple
slides (maps), click paste resize the object (9" by 12" = 4 maps per file)
and drag it to the spot where the old version of the map was. When I try to
do this with PPT 2003, whenever I hit paste it just adds a new slide to the
file containing the mintiple maps instead of pasting it inside the existing
slide. Is there a way to insert one slide into another slide with PPT 2203?

To insert a new slide,
Click Insert > Object.
Select Create New.
Look for Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation.
Click Ok.

To insert an existing slide,
Click Insert > Object.
Select Create from file.
Browse for the ppt and click Ok.

Rod,
Instead of just pasting the slide, use Edit--> Paste Special. That will give
you a number of options, the first of which is "Microsoft PowerPoint Slide
Object" - That should give you what you are looking for.

Kathy am I missing something? I only get one option in paste special and it
pastes a new slide. I would like to get this "trick" as I currently select
all / copy/ paste special as a jpeg which doesnt quite do it!

Is it possible you have the slide miniature selected instead of the slid?.
Click on the slide then do the paste special. You should get more
options....

Thanks Shawn. I clicked insert>object, moved the dot to the Create From File
circle, selected the power point slide I wanted to insert into my existing
slide and it worked great. With that new "object" (the slide I inserted)
selected I was then able to go to the Format>Object menu choice and resize
the new slide to fit into my slot.
