How do you handle win.dat files

Does my outlook turn my attachments into win.dat files or does the party
receiving my attachments. Some of my contacts tell me that they cannot open
my win.dat files.

How do I get around this.

This is quite often caused by sending in Rich text Format (Outlook default)
to non-Outlook users. Try changing your email format to either plain text or
HTML.

This is another Microsoft attempt to maintain their monopoly. Lotus Notes
doesn't do this, Thunderbird doesn't do this, and Corel Mail doesn't do it.
That's why our company gave up on Outlook and Outlook Express. We received
too many complaints from our customers that they couldn't open their
attachment which was either win.dat or ATT001 or something like that.

Here's a work around. go to this site and follow the instructions.
Doesn't make your company look professional when you recommend to your
customer they do this.
