How do you get bullet numbering to continue to next page

Hi can someone tell me how to continue bullet numbering from one page to the
next so that you have a continuous numbering over several pages.
 
The numbers won't continue automatically but...

on the slide where the numbers continue:

in ppt 2003...

select the textbox.
Format menu -> bullets and numbering -> "numbered" tab -> see the "start at"
box and enter the number you want the bullets to start at.

similar deal in ppt 2007
