I am using XP Home with SP2.
I recently bought an xternal backup drive.
The program that came with it pretty much backs up my files but if there is
a file that I want to back up, I need to specify the file format.
Such as:
Word 2007 documents: .doc
Diabetes Pilot: .dpd
and so on.
Where in Xp do you find the file format for a certain file?
Thanks from a newbie.

Find an example of the file you want to back up and look at its extension.
If you can't see the extensions, uncheck the "hide extensions for known
file types" box in Control Panel>Folder Options>View tab.
