How do you edit a record in Access 2007?

HI: Sorry for asking such a basic question, but I can not figure out how to
edit a record. I imported the data from a DBF file and the data is now in
rows. I thought all you had to do was click on a field and boom, retype the
data. But no, nauda, nothing happens. It seems like it is in a read only
mode. I looked in the help files under "edit records" and could not find any
info on how to edit a record. So, if anyone would mind answerering a basic
question, it would be appreaciated.

Open a Table Datasheet; edit the field.

Create a Form based on the table; edit it that way.

Are you CERTAIN that you in fact *imported* the .dbf file? or did you
perchance link to it? A linked dBase file might or might not be
editable depending on how you linked it.
