How do you mark or complete an appointment done in Outlook? When an
appointment comes up on your calander how do you create a record that you
actually completed the appointment? Better yet, is there anyway to search for
a record of everything you've done that is associated with a contact? I am
used to using sales based information managers and am having trouble
determining how a transition to Outlook would work. Thanks for your help.

You don't mark them as done. It's not a CRM system.

If you leave records in your Mailbox, the Activities Tab in each Contact
shows you past meetings, emails etc that relate to them.

Maybe you need to investigate CRM or Business Contact Manager to make
Outlook a better sales management tool..

Judy: Thank you for answering my questions regarding "completing appts." in
Outlook. I am not familiar with CRM or Business Contact Mgr. Are they
Outlook add-ons or do they work in conjunction with Outlook? I have a PIM
software I use but it is real estate specific and I have changed industries
(it also has a terrible word processor and email function.) I want to find
something that integrates with Outlook so my letters can be done in Word and
can email through Outlook. Any suggestions? I have to believe MS has a
product that fills these roles but I have only ever really heard about the
one I use, ACT, and Goldmine. I appreciate any guidance you can provide.

CRM = Customer Relationship Management. It is a type of software of which
there are many packages. Outlook CRM, Prophet etc etc etc Do a serach for
CRM and Outlook and you should find many.

Business Contact Manager is a Microsoft product - have a look on the
Microsoft.com web site for it.

CRM is what's generally used to make Outlook more suitable for people in
sales roles.

Hello Judy:

This is exactly what i am looking for. I use ACT but I want to put a strike
-through or FINISHED in the Calander view. This way I know Appointment has
been completed. I know you can do that in Lotus Notes and ACT. Are there
plug-ins (third party applets) youn can buy that will provide that
functionality. I don't want to use a different software. Please provide me
with some specific names.

thanks,
Vinnie
