How do you change the pointer?

You can't change it in PowerPoint, you have to do that in the operation
system.

Hi,

If I have your question sorted correctly in my mind, Control Panel, Mouse,
and usually the Pointers tab. That should change the appearance in all
applications, including a slideshow.
