I have a Dell Dimension 2400, with XP home.

I would like to be able to change the default windows dialer, to the phone
software the came with the machine (Classic Phone Tools by BVRP).

This way, I could place a call from my address book using Phone Tools.

Does anyone know how to change the default dialer program setting?

Thanks in advance,

Ed

I can place a call from my address book using the default dialer! Can't you
also?

Read the guy's question Richard. He wants to use the Phone Tools dialer
instead.

Steve

Yes! I read the question - along with the statement as to why he wanted to
do it.

He said, "I would like to be able to change the default windows dialer, to
the phone software the came with the machine (Classic Phone Tools by BVRP).

I just told him that he could also place a call from his address book using
the default dialer. Maybe he doesn't know he can do this.

Do YOU comprehend now?

The way your answer came across to me was it didn't seem to apply to the
question he asked, which was specifically how to change the default
dialer. Nevermind.

It's no problem, guys.

Richard,

I can place calls using the default dialer. The thing is, it seems to be
only a dialer - and nothing more. I want to place calls, and use my
microphone and speakers for the conversation. The BVRP software let's me do
that, but the default windows dialer will only dial.

Thanks guys.

PS: Steve, sorry for the double post. I didn't see the responses until I
downloaded some additional headers. My mistake.

No problem here either.

Good enough reason for me.
Thanks guys.

Thanks, I only mention things like that for the benefit of everyone. If
it's all in one thread it's much easier to review history of what's been
discussed.

So... were you able to change the default dialer to Phone Tools?

Steve

Steve and others,

Nevermind!

Sometimes what you are looking for is right in front of your face.

The BVRP software itself, has a configuration button, that when clicked,
causes it to become the default dialer.

I clicked it, and now I'm dialing with that software.

Sorry for the bother.

Best Regards,

Ed

Good, glad you got it working how you like.
