I came across this information about a month ago but did not bookmark the
page and I cannot remember the formula... it was very easy... something like
{/amount...} I really can't remember, but you just entered this in your text
and it converted accurately the number...

If the number is inserted as a field, display field codes, and then add the
\* CardText switch. Press F9 to update.

Repeat for any additional fields in the text.

To show/hide field codes, press Alt+F9.

I wasn't able to find what I'm looking for - I should elaborate and say that
the number is not entered as a field reference. It is strictly in the text -
the formula possibly included CTRL F9 (could that be?)..... It was so
easy.... arghhhhhh! Any help would be appreciated.

Try { =123 \*cardtext }
with CTRL+F9 for the brackets

Thanks for your help Graham. I don't know if I'm just an idiot but once I've
done the ctrl f9, typed in the formula.... do I just hit enter and then it
should appear in text? If so, it's not working.... I'm thinking I'm missing
a step.

Press F9 when you have entered it.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! You were very helpful Graham! Much appreciated!

I couldn't follow your response. Are you turning numbers in the text
into fields in order to convert them? It seems like it would just be
simpler to type the number words!

I mentioned a few weeks ago that someone (in Germany) wrote me a macro
for converting figures to English text that worked very well -- and
then when I tried to install another macro, all the macros ceased
functioning. One of these days I'll try reinstalling it, following
your how-to-use-macros instructions.
