how do you calculate an age-specific mortality rate when you have the
information of:
the total population
the population for a specific age group
total amount of deaths
total amount of deaths for that age group

The death rate for a specific age is the same as the death rate for the age
group it's in. I think?

Not really an Excel question, but a quick Google search turns up this
