How do you add a caption to a picture in Word 2003?

I clicked on everything I could find and tried Office Assistant with no
results. I'm stymied.

I've inserted a picture in the middle of a newspaper column and want to add
a caption identifying the person in the picture. I know it must be something
simple that I'm missing.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

You will find what you want on the Insert menu (or ribbon if you are using
Word 2007).

Hope this helps.

I'm sorry, I'm working on several projects and got the programs mixed up when
I posted. The picture is in Publisher 2003, not Word. I just checked again,
just in case, and there's nothing under "Insert".

In Publisher, you'd have to insert a text box and put your caption in that.
