how do u take out sounds when music is playing

i have custom animation to my slide show and i also have music my problem is
that the custom animation has sound and i don't want the sound all i want is
music. i'm using power point 2002 xp any help would be great.
 
Check which effect has sound added.
Then, double click on the effect to bring the effect options.
Under Enhancements, click on the dropdown field and select [No Sound].
