how do show email type as smtp only (no fax)

My address book in email shows both email and fax address, essentially
doubling the size of the book and making it harder to scroll through. Can I
eliminate showing the fax number in the email address book ?

thanks

Right-click, Customize View, and deselect to display the fax fields.

That works on the Contacts folder, but I don't think it works within the
Address Book view.

Put a character like "F" in front of the FAX number so that Outlook doesn't
recognize it as a fax number or put the number in a non-phone number field.

Thanks. I have tried that but right clicking in the address book only
effects the individual name you happen to hit. There does not seem to be
any options in address book. I would have thought there would be various
options to sort by name, company, category etc - seems simple enough, but
can't find any way to do it.

I had figured when you said showing the fax numbers doubled how much you
had to scroll through meant you were looking at a card view in your
Contacts folder (and that is what you meant by your address book). That
is where you can change which fields get shown for each contact record.

In the Address Book, you'll need to follow the link provided by Lanwench
which says to prefix the fax number with "Fax:" (which is similar to
Brian's advice of just prefixing "F:").
