How do I use pdf files in PP?

I have PP 2007, haven't done much with it, mainly been in Publisher and Word.

On another topic newsgroup (MS) the topic came up of using pdf files for PP presentations/slide shows. I tried opening a pdf file (created from Publisher 2007 using Primo PDF creator) It says PP can't open this type file. I've tried OPEN and "insert picture".

I figured I should move to a PowerPoint topic group to ask more about it.

Now I've looked more at PP, and see some of what it looks like it does, I'm fascinated with it.

I'm thinking the last one is probably the first to try

A copy of the PDF is now embedded in your PPT file, meaning that you won't
have to worry about links breaking when you move the file to another
computer or send it to someone else.
Acrobat Reader must be installed on the "playback" PC for this to work.

Most people have Acrobat Reader.

I have photoshop, too, so that would be 2nd I'd try.
