thought i entered and which is in the system are different. Now I can not use
my browser at all!

I tried to reset the computer but it is not working. Anyone that can help me

Hi KL,

You can do the following - but be aware that all settings in the content
advisor.
Good luck!

1) Click on Start and choose Run.

2) Type in RegEdit and select OK.

3) Now click on the little plus sign to the left of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

4) Continue to drill down, always clicking on the plus sign at the left
of the named key, through Software, Microsoft, Windows, Current Version
and Policies.

5) Now click on the Ratings folder.

6) In the right pane of the RegEdit window, you'll see an icon called
Key. Click on it and press Delete.

7) Next, choose Registry and then Exit to exit RegEdit. You've just
deleted your original Content Advisor password.

8) Restart the computer and run Internet Explorer again.

9) Choose View and then Internet Options (or Options for version 3.x).
For IE 5 or greater, Click on Tools, Internet Options.

10) Click on the Content tab and click on Disable. When asked for a
password, don't enter anything; just click on OK. This will disable
Content Advisor because there's no longer a password.

Thanks I understand your postion but I AM the father of 41 and just a
computer idiot. I tried to set it up so my daughter couldn't get on and I
locked everyone out.

If you entered a password and there is a different one , either
someone entered the different one or you might have a virus .
Google for malwarebytes .

Simply log in using the built-in Administrator account (which
cannot be deleted) and use Start > Run > "control userpasswords2" to
modify the desired account(s).

By design, the only way to log into the Administrator account of
WinXP Home is to reboot into Safe Mode. For WinXP Pro, pressing
CTRL+ALT+DEL twice at the Welcome Screen will produce the standard login
dialog box. Unless the owner deliberately set the Administrator's
password via the Management Console (_not_ the Control Panel), it's
probably still blank. WinXP Pro asks the installer to set the
Administrator's password during installation, but WinXP Home doesn't.

Failing that, Linux-based password cracking utilities abound on the
Internet, freely available to anyone who can use Google.
